Joel Ruet convened a working session during the 4th edition of the International Youth Forum that took place from July 11th to July 14th in Dakhla, Morocco, under the high patronage of His Majesty The King Mohammed VI. It brought together 250 young people but also many political figures, researchers and experts. The event focused on the topic “Youth and Sustainable Development: What Contribution?”. Dr Maya Soetoro, U.S. President Barack Obama’s sister, was the guest of honour.
The Forum was held within the open university of Dakhla, of which the Bridge Tank is an active member. Chairman Joel Ruet, was present, and was able to observe and study the various initiatives and projects in areas such as sustainable development and environmental issues.
The schedule of the forum included meetings, lectures, and workshops on topics such as “Youth, COP 22 and Sustainable Development” and “Green Economy: A Future Opportunity to Promote Youth Employment”. The event was an opportunity to foster youth projects, but also to achieve practical initiatives and the signing of proposals and sponsorships.
The forum concluded with the preparation of the “Dakhla Declaration”, a document gathering recommendations from the young participants and addressed to the COP 22 organizers.
